Game Changers Split 2 Qualifiers

Noob Esports Game Changers team entered into the Game Changers Split 2 Qualifiers that commenced on the 17th of June. This qualifier was set to span over five nights, with six rounds of games. Using a swiss bracket, games were set up, and each round of games was set to be a best of three. Our team went into these games hoping for wins, and aiming to do their best. Map vetos were done prior to games each night.

First night our team went up against ARCADE. Haven was the first map, with the two teams staying round for round until the end where Arcade took the lead resulting in 9-13. Second game was also just as close, on Sunset, ending with a 8-13. Although this night ended in a loss, the team had learnt from this experience and took the vital suggestions from their coach into the next night.

Second night Noob went up against Schimimi with the first map being Lotus. This team match up was a great one, each team holding their own, with the first map ending 13-7 win for Noob. Second map on Sunset, a map our team is well prepared for was another win for Noob, 13-7 again. These wins gave the team some confidence, ensuring the other teams knew they weren’t here to lay down and lose.

Third night of games the team went up against UNCS, once again a very close match up. First game on Pearl, our team stole the win 13-10. With this win, the team steeled their nerves and worked together to secure their second win of the night. Haven 13-7, the team came to conquer and they did.

Fourth round came as a challenge and a loss against Toxic. First map Pearl, 8-13, out team was not willing to give the win easily. Sunset 9-13, our team fought tooth and nail to hold out as long as they could. The loss was taken in stride, our team keeping their heads high and preparing for the final night of games.

Night five held two rounds of games, round five and round six. Round five Noob went up against PrevailANZ. Our team came prepared to dominate, and this strategy worked for them, first map Pearl 13-6. They kept up this momentum for the second game against Prevail, on Haven resulting in a 13-1 win. This win secured them a round six match up.

Round six was against Divine, a strong team. But our team went into the games stronger and closer, prepared to fight for the win. All three games were played in this final battle. First map on Lotus, was a hard loss, 4-13. But this loss didn’t deter the team from giving it their all in the second game. Their determination to win, resulted in second game going into overtime, Noob winning 14-12! Final map on Pearl was the be all end all, and the team put every bit of energy they had left into this match. A close loss on Pearl, 10-13.

Overall, Noob ended seventh on the leaderboard. This concluded the Game Changers Split 2 Qualifiers for Noob Esports. The outcome, although not one we wanted, isn’t all that bad. Our team showed they were not to be messed with, they put up great fights all throughout the qualifiers, ensuring teams did not have it easy against them. They plan to take a rest, work together on more training and come back to the next event better than they’ve ever been. This is not the end of Noob Game Changers team, but a new beginning.

We cannot wait to see them show up and bring it for the next challenge.
